My Story
I’ve always loved making things. From a really young age, I used to sketch out designs for my own little fashion brand and my Grandma would help me turn the ideas into actual clothes on her sewing machine. Not long after that came clay cake toppers, buying and selling One Direction phone cases and loads of other random little business ideas along the way!
That naturally led me into studying 3D Design at the University of Salford, which I graduated in 2016. This eventually led into a career in graphic design, where I’ve worked across retail, e-commerce and brand-led businesses on everything from social media campaigns and websites to packaging, print and large-scale advertising. Alongside that, I started creating my own cards and prints in 2017. What started as a creative side project slowly grew through online orders, makers’ markets and lots of trial and error until it became something much bigger.
As the brand evolved, it felt right to give it a name that felt more personal too. Growing up, my mum used to call me “Flossy” because of my very light blonde hair, which she said looked like candyfloss. The nickname stuck and years later it became the perfect name for the brand.
Today, Flossy is my little corner of the internet where I get to create things I genuinely love. Every print and card starts as an idea I’d happily have in my own home or send to someone myself. I still design everything myself, pack every order by hand and genuinely love seeing people connect with what I make.
